Public document

This page states Azari Holdings’ public policy position. Applicable law, contracts, regulatory requirements and more specific subsidiary procedures may impose additional or stricter requirements.

Core principle

Azari businesses should respect the fundamental rights of people affected by their activities and should not knowingly participate in abuse, forced labour, unlawful discrimination or degrading treatment.

Where local law and recognised rights principles differ, the issue should be assessed carefully with appropriate legal and operating context.

People at work

Employment and contracting practices should support lawful pay and conditions, safe work, respect, freedom from harassment and fair treatment. Retaliation against a person for raising a genuine rights or safety concern is not acceptable.

Sector-specific health, safety and professional requirements remain the responsibility of the relevant operating company.

Communities and local effects

Property, infrastructure, energy and other physical activities can affect land, livelihoods, access, safety and local resources. Material effects should be identified early enough to inform project decisions and stakeholder engagement.

Community communication should be factual and should not use philanthropic activity to obscure operational harm.

Children and vulnerable people

Activities involving children or people in vulnerable circumstances require additional care around consent, safeguarding, privacy and power imbalance.

Azari Foundation and any relevant operating business should apply procedures appropriate to the programme and jurisdiction rather than relying solely on this group statement.

Suppliers and third parties

Azari expects relevant suppliers and partners to avoid serious human-rights abuse and to cooperate with proportionate review where the work creates meaningful exposure.

A contract clause alone is not sufficient where warning signs indicate that actual labour or community conditions require investigation.

Concerns and remedy

Where Azari causes or contributes to harm, the response should consider stopping the activity, preventing recurrence and supporting an appropriate remedy. Where the group is linked to harm through another party, leverage and contractual options should be considered.

Responses should protect affected people from retaliation and preserve confidentiality where practical.
